Frequently asked questions

Your spray tan questions, answered!

Everything you need to know for a flawless, natural-looking spray tan — from prep to aftercare.

I have an event. When should I book my appointment?

To achieve the best results, we recommend booking your tanning session at least one day before your event, with 1-2 days being the ideal timeframe for your tan to fully develop. If you're in a pinch and need a quick boost of color, our express tan can provide a last-minute option on the day of your event. However, please note that this will only yield a subtle glow, as the tan develops fully over the course of 24 hours.

It's important to remember that you'll need to allow 2-5 hours to rinse your tan after your session. Your full color will continue to develop for up to 24 hours.

This is my first tan or visit to your studio. Should I get a trial?

Before any significant event, I strongly recommend conducting a trial session, particularly if it's your first time tanning or visiting a salon. Each person's skin reacts uniquely to tanning products, so it's important to understand how yours will respond before your big day. Schedule your trial tan at least two weeks prior to your main tanning session to ensure any residual color has worn off. This way, you can approach your event with confidence!

When should I book in coordination with any other beauty appointments?

Please schedule any additional beauty appointments, such as waxing, pedicures, or hair treatments, either before your tanning session or after your initial rinse. It’s important to remember that you cannot get wet until after the first rinse, which may affect other services you plan to book, including manicures, pedicures, and facials. Additionally, waxing is not permitted after your tanning session, as it will completely remove the tan from the treated area.

What do I wear during my tanning session?

Please wear loose, dark clothing after your tanning session—avoid tight garments like tights or sports bras. Keep in mind that the clothing you choose to wear during your tan will determine your tan lines, whether that’s a bathing suit, bra and panties, just panties, or going nude.

Be prepared to assume various poses, so it’s essential to wear something you can move comfortably in. If you need them, we provide disposable thong panties, hairnets, and breast cover pasties for your convenience.

Are there any special instructions for after my tanning session?

To ensure the best results from your tanning session, it's essential that you avoid getting wet or sweating for 2-5 hours, depending on the tan you selected. When it's time for your first shower (2-5 hours after tanning), simply rinse off thoroughly with warm water only—no scrubbing or body wash! You may notice that some of the tan washes away, but don’t worry; the color continues to develop for about 24 hours after application. Gently pat yourself dry and follow up with a moisturizer.

Additionally, please avoid skin-to-skin contact in areas such as between your legs, under your arms, and under your breasts. To prevent any uncomfortable stickiness, use a barrier cloth in these spots (you can tuck your shirt or skirt in, or use tissue as needed).

How do I prepare for my sunless tanning session?

For the best, most even results, follow these simple steps:

Exfoliate and shave 24 hours before your appointment
• Avoid oils, lotions, and bar soaps before your tan
Do not shower immediately before — shower the night before or several hours prior
• If you must shave the same day, rinse thoroughly to remove any residue
• Arrive with clean, dry skin (no deodorant, makeup, or moisturizer)
• Wear loose, dark clothing to your appointment

✨ For best results, we recommend using an exfoliating mitt (available in-studio).

How do I maintain my sunless tan?

To keep your glow looking its best:

Avoid water for 3–5 hours after your appointment (or as advised)
• Shower with a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser and pat skin dry
Moisturize daily to maintain an even, long-lasting tan
• Avoid excess sweating, hot baths, and chlorinated pools when possible
• Your tan will look best within the first week and fade naturally over time

• For best results, avoid harsh soaps (like Dove or bar soaps), and limit long or frequent showers.
